Art Advisory

Making the decision to include art in your environment can be both exciting and daunting. Working with an expert helps to create a focus and aesthetic, as well as providing you with a wealth of information and assistance to move forward as you create your collection. With over 13 years experience as a curator with a major institution, Bellamy Printz assisted in growing their collection from 2,500 to over 7,000 works of contemporary art, including site-specific commissions and curating exhibitions.

Program Development

Establishing new public platforms related to art & culture has wide-ranging positive effects on communities and enriches one’s experience on many levels. Bellamy Printz designs programs (either singular or a series), residencies and events to spark ideas and communication about creativity and innovative thought. Since 1996, she has created various types of public programming throughout Cleveland, including at Zygote Press, Cleveland Clinic, and Cleveland Public Library.

Writing

Writing about art is often overwhelming and can seem overtly complicated. Whether the text is focused on your own art work or others’ for general purposes, a specific grant, project proposal or brochure, Deep Dive can help. By getting to the root of an idea via a meaningful exchange, the words can flow. Bellamy Printz is an experienced writer in several genres, including marketing, art writing, essays, and development writing. In addition to content development, she has overseen the publication and design of several books.

Project Management

Understanding and establishing the parameters, players and scope to initiate and complete a specific art-related project requires someone with the ability to visualize the process before it even starts. Bellamy Printz has managed over 100 curatorial projects for a variety of spaces and purposes from architectural planning to art procurement to installation. In non-curatorial related projects, she recently directed the creation of an art & architecture app for Cleveland Clinic on iOS, and has managed many innovative projects at Cleveland Clinic and Zygote Press, including third-party collaborations.

Edition Services

Contract Printing

When an artist or organization wants to create an edition or multiples of prints, the most effective way to do this is to hire a printer to complete the job. Contract printing is a particularly space and time-consuming activity. The need for a space where the printer can work, uninterrupted, is essential to a successful contract printing practice.  Some contract projects require huge amounts of papers, inks and other materials, while others can use only one color.  The Deep End offers a dedicated and controlled environment in order to secure efficient and positive outcomes.

Original Print Development

After reviewing and considering the artist’s vision and print experience at the Deep End studio, a plan will be created to investigate options for image and matrix development. This may include “field trips” to other maker-spaces around Cleveland, where the artist will work with someone who can assist with technical elements of production. In some cases, this activity will be collaborative; in other cases, it is a matter of the image being created by the artist, and then contracted to someone who can fabricate the proper matrices from which the print will be made. These unique impressions will be brought back to the Deep End if an edition is required in order for the project to be carried out in an organized, professional and timely way.

Press Rental

(with and without assistance)

Experienced artists and printers are able to rent the Deep End exclusively to produce work. Fees are based on hourly or day rate and if assistance is required.
